Peter got a card from Grandma and Grandpa Barrett yesterday. He liked the card - it was Spiderman. But he may have been even more impressed that Grandma put a crown sticker on the back. See, he's have a King/Spiderman birthday party.
(So Grandma, are you psychic, or was that just a Hallmark sticker?)
Here he is pointing at the sticker in amazement - which we saved of course.
The other day I got a note from a friend saying that my pre-Christmas posting of Monopoly Jr. was nice. They ended up getting it as a Christmas gift for their boy (who is the same age as Pete), and they love it too.
Well, here is the opposite. Over Christmas we bought some Kinex. A bit like Legos, but with other attachment parts (rods, and star-like things). Plus this one was motorized. We chose the dump truck.
Well, the *lego* type pieces don't stick together very well, causing Pete to whine everytime something falls off. And the motorized part let's the thing go back and forth, but there is no remote. So it goes until it comes to an obstacle, and then its wheels keep spinning until you go and shut it off. The bin part of the dump truck lifts up and down via your hand (not via motor).
Maybe we didn't read the box well enough. Maybe I expected too much for our $18 on-sale item. I just wish it would stay together better. Anyway, its going to live in a box by itself for a bit.
