Ho Hum weekend

We tried another day trip on Saturday. First our favorite crab fishing spot - no crabs. Then we tried a fall market, expecting fruit and crafts, but instead it turned out to be a giant flea market - complete with beer tent, country music, and line dancing. We gave it one more try and drove to the cute town of Kerteminde, where even the ice cream shop was shut down. So I guess, DK is officially Closed For The Season.

So, Sunday we decided to hit the zoo, knowing that at least it would be open. The zoo is doing some marketing of their remodeled cafeteria. The sign below advertises a kids happy meal of sorts for 55 kroner - or $11. What a deal!

New for us - After the zoo keeper let a teenager play tug-o-war with the tiger, he fed him some meat popsicles. Seriously, I get a bit frightened by how close they let us get to the animals, and the seemingly inadequate fencing. Its the same kind of fence people use in their yards here for landscaping.

Inside the tiger's den was what was left of the horse (a head and ribcage) he'd eaten earlier in the week.
