Monday was a religious holiday called Pinse - we think it corresponds to the Catholic Pentecost. For the majority of DK though, its just another day to spend with family or friends.
We tried to take a walk from Den Fynske Landsby, through the Zoo, and on to Munke Mose park. You can get anywhere on their trail system. Bringing the bike was a bad idea, and we didn't get too far. Next time.
For all the treatment I got from the teachers at Pete's bornhave for my *unhealthy* lunches, these people sure eat a lot of ice cream. When in Denmark... That's the ice cream hut in the background.
One other odd thing is the littering. Its not usually as bad as this, but there is an awful lot of broken glass on the bike trails and at playgrounds. There's also a high percentage of abandoned bicycles and random piles of junk. I just don't know why.
I'm guessing all these bottles and cans are from shopping trips to Germany for cheap alcohol. Otherwise each would be worth a Kronner or more each, and somebody would salvage them.
