Pete's world

Pete found another snail. And its a little hard to believe, but its even bigger than the last one. Its living in a box lined with wax paper out on the deck, and Pete has been good about watering and feeding it (leaves). I was happy that they didn't bring the giant slug home; they are black, and puffy, and they remind me of leaches. Eeeeeewwwh. On a rainy day I try to avoid the worms on the bike trail, but I aim for the slugs. They actually POP!

Pete was also on a bit of an art spree last week. After the great couple of drawing he brought home from bornhave, I took him to big-old-Bilka to get some art supplies. He picked out a set of scissors that have interchangeable blades, and I picked out some animal stencils. We "did some art" for a few days straight, but we've now fallen into another lull. Maybe next week we'll do some more. ALL daycare workers will be going on strike starting next Monday - last time it was only some, this time its all, so no kids can go to bronhave. And of course, we don't know how long the strike will last. It will probably end about the time the bornhave is scheduled to close for three weeks in the summer.
