In other areas - like the monkey and lemur pens - you could walk into and be very near the animals. In these places food, pacifiers, and pets were strictly forbidden - you can guess why. Here we are going into one of the monkey pens.
A couple of lemurs were trapped in the information hut by our group. Their glowing eyes were a bit on the creepy side.
Its a bit hard to see, but Pete is looking a a group of lions. Feeding days are Tuesday and Saturday, and I'd say they looked hungry - or looked at us hungrily. This is the one area that the bus driver did not open the doors for people to get a clear picture.
A double concrete wall and trench at the elephant pen - not a bad idea.
Again, just like the Odense Zoo there are lots of tempting logs over water for the kids to try out. This stream comes out of the gorilla pen. Why? Seriously, why?
We ended the day at a large playground in the park. I had heard there were trampolines, and I was glad to see that they were not surrounded by boulders or broken glass. Even so, one of the kids in our group did get hurt on the large inflated jumper and had to go to the ER. The park said that that was the 4th kid of the day to get hurt on the playground.
I'm told that the goats here are left to breed at whatever rate is possible (lion food).
