Babysitting

Peter enjoyed playing big brother to my sister's new daughter last weekend. Arla is only 5 months old, but she's crawling at what seems to be high speed. Without Peter I don't know if I would have gotten a shower in that day. (My sister also has an almost 4-year old daughter, and Peter did not enjoy playing big brother to her. She had too many opinions of her own.)

After a pretty heavy frost the other night, I decided to finally cut down the garden. These were the spoils that hadn't been harvested to date. Long, long ago, when we were first married I had an excess of green tomatoes in the fall. I put them in the basement and they turned red. I'm going to try that with these.

After wanting to be Annoying Orange for Halloween for at least 3 months, 3 days ago Pete informed me that that idea was scrapped - for a zombie monster - which was then scrapped 2 days ago for a green goblin - which was then scrapped last night for an evil elf. What have I learned?  Keep face paints and old T-shirts around.

5 seconds BEFORE walking in the door of a Halloween party yesterday, I was required to 'remove' all of Pete's face except the beard and one (yes only one) drop of blood.  There is no arguing with these out-of-no-where decisions.  I just do what I'm told.
