We stayed close to home this last weekend. It was on and off heavy heavy rain with heavy heavy humidity in between. Saturday was a short day trip to St. Paul to fossil hunt for small sea creatures in the limestone along the Mississippi River. The topography was a bit nerve racking for me. But not for Pete.

As we started on home we passed this. That'd be the Danish American Center. Who knew?

Then it was time for a cooling dip. Pick a lake, any lake, we got 10,000 to choose from. The wind was roaring - to the point of driving a person crazy. We had our swim and then headed on home.

On Sunday we hit a parade. It was in a nearby City, but crossed County lines. Funny, but that really mattered. We could care less about who's running for whatever office, and so on. Next time we need to stay close to home (like Hopkins) or hit a big one (like the Aquatennial).

Pete dressed himself in red-blue that day. As far a I know, he had no idea everyone else would be choosing similar colors. He's lucky that way I guess.

Only in America. Really. Only here.
