Weekend Sleepover

We had Nora for a day and a night last weekend. We picked her up at her place, and since its close to Dayton's Downtown (known to the rest of the world as Macy's) we went over and saw the display.

This is a MPLS tradition since the 1960's I think. A changing holiday diorama up on the 8th floor. The last one I remember going to as a girl is Hansel and Gretel (1980's). Anyway, this year they are repeating last year's A Day In The Life Of An Elf *since it was sooo popular*. I don't know about that, I was thinking more - Hey you Minnasotan's, this is not Dayton's anymore and the economy sucks so you get what you get. But it was really good, even at 2-yrs-old Nora "got it", and at one point Peter cried out - This is AWESOME! See, Peter (even at almost 6-yrs-old) is still wowed by simple things. For this I Thank DK, and our lack of a TV.

**Disclaimer** I'm not a die-hard TV hater. Its just that since we've gotten back, the TVs have switched to digital. Plus we never re-upped our cable. We've put all this off, going on 5 months now, and after a while you just get used to it. The last time I actually watched TV, was a few weeks ago at my mom's place. She was out with Peter, and so I was just hanging out. And let me tell you, non-cable day-time TV is a HUGE turnoff. Total 100% crap. And the late afternoon talk shows are barely tolerable. Its either 1) they think the whole of America is stupid, or 2) the whole of America really is stupid.

But I'll stop now, what you really came here for was Pete.
