He also caught a pretty cool walking stick bug. You don't see these often because - well, they look like a stick. We only saw this one because it was on the screen door.
On Tuesday we went to our neighborhood's little get together for National Night Out. We re-met old neighbors and even a few new ones. It was fine (but it made me miss our Danish friends - a lot. They are nice neighbors, but its just not the same as nice friends). Before the firetruck left, Peter got to blow the horn and siren. On the way home he verified that he was the *only* kid that was allowed to do this. And if you know Peter you know that that is an important point.
Before the picnic we hit the Shoreview farmer's market (that's in my mom's neighborhood). Holy Cow, what a market. It is huge, and it was even busier than last week. Here's Pete buying himself some lovely carrots.
And then yesterday we took my grandma (one of Pete's two great-grandmas) to a doctors appointment. We were rewarded at the end with a tray of caramels. These are the same tasty caramels that persuaded Peter to potty-train himself in less than a week. We had to chop them into squares and wrap them up, since grandma has a broken wrist. He didn't mind the task one bit, it was sharing some of the bounty with grandma that was hard.
