Hot and Humid

This past weekend it actually got hot. Some sort of humid front moved in Saturday morning, resulting in tornadoes and severe weather later that evening. We also had my sister's daughter Nora with us for the weekend.

Now owning season fishing licences, I decided we'd try a little fishing at the Coon Rapids Dam, which crosses the mighty Mississippi River.

It was a fine few hours. Just enough to keep two kids occupied for a short time out in hot weather. From the website, I thought that the visitors center would be updated and cool. But really, the place is a bit run down. I don't see us venturing back anytime soon. See photos from that day (including this one) here.

Monday morning we started 'moving in' to our home. Its a bit like camping. I have a partial home in MN, and the rest from DK is still in transit. Right now we are hanging out at the library. I'm using the internet, and Peter is trying to socialize with some young girls. Its going OK at best. For some reason he doesn't talk, so the kids don't know what he's thinking or wants. Re-acclimation continues.
