Here and gone again...

Grandma Barrett and her friend Mary stopped over in DK this past weekend on their whirlwind trip through Europe. We briefly bopped around Copenhagen on Saturday afternoon, but the weather was highly uncooperative, so after the King's Castle we headed on back home. The big excitement of the day (other than our guests arriving) was when some alarm went off at the castle, and about 2 minutes after I had been listening to it, the guards snapped into action, running back and forth with the guns (safely pointed to the ground). They corralled all people on site, including us, until they fixed the problem - whatever it was.

Waiting for the ladies to come out of customs...

Corralled at the castle...

Sunday we headed on over to Egeskov Slot. The weather was nice in the morning, but by the time we were through with our picnic lunch, a storm was rolling in. So we did a car tour of Svendborg and the island of TÃ¥singe, and then followed that with a brief hike on the beach at Ristinge Klint in Langeland. Monday was reserved for shopping and catching the train back on over to Copenhagen. So far they've seen a lot - and there are still stops to make. Happy travels grandma!
