Lately

Even though we buy Pete new toys, he seems to like his animals the best - or they are a close second to Legos. Since he's been about one yr old I've been buying him these animals. Of course HOW he plays with them has changed over time. He used to line them up - methodically. Now its morphed to more intricate scenarios. Cats eating what they eat. An island zoo, with a meat elevator (his words). Things like that.

Last Friday we inherited a bag of cloths from another friend. Most of the items were 6T, but I did pull out some shirts and muscle shirts (Pete's favorite kind of shirt) that he can wear now. One shirt I should have left hidden is a short-sleeve snoopy jacket shirt - its sooooo dorky, and he just loves it.

Joe Cool, all the way.

Then on Sunday we went to a birthday party for an expat kid. It was a big-kid-only party, and technically Peter didn't qualify (it was for 5 year olds and up), but the girl wanted him to come. What can I say, girls generally like Pete.

Pete dressed himself for the party in shorts (it was maybe 10 degrees C out), a batman muscle shirt, overlaid by a spiderman t-shirt, overlaid by the Snoopy shirt.

Here's today's school art project. You can't really see it, but he made claws on the hands and feet. Feasting animals...drawing himself like this...normal boy behavior right?

Peter is also understanding more Danish. On Monday we went for a walk. As we passed by the daycare here in our neighborhood, Pete decided he'd run over to the fence and "have a chat" with the kids there. When he came back to me, I asked him what they talked about. He said...

Well, they asked me my name (in Danish), and I told them "Peter".
Then they asked me how old I was (again in Danish), and I said "fire ar".

Those are two common questions. But then he said they asked (in Danish) - how did you get away from the bornhave?

So to understand that question, I think that he must be understanding more Danish.
