5 Stars for Monopoly JR

While in the US, I picked up some new games for Pete. Candyland was over-played, and Chutes and Ladders was just no fun (the pieces are too big, and its hard for the kids to understand which way to go next). And most, if not all, games for small kids for sale here are in Danish.

So, I chose Uno (because he's played it before and liked it), Trouble (I remembered playing that one as a kid), and Monopoly JR. And man, is Monopoly JR a fantastic kids game!

Its a simplified version, but you still buy spots, and pay people for landing on their spots, and you have the Chance cards. He doesn't completely understand the $$ part yet - like how a $5 bill is like having five ones. But he's picking it up fast - like he knows that a $2 bill and a $1 bill are the same as a $3 bill. He also has to remember the order of play (roll the die, move to a spot, do what it says), and he can do these multiple steps, which I think is great. The game is for ages 5-8, but even at 4 1/2, he's doing just super and loving it.
