Friday was Store Bededag, a national day of prayer. Yet oddly (not really), the majority of churches were closed. Instead of praying, most people connected with their conscious by doing a little gardening. It was a super beautiful day.
Rich left early Friday morning to drive our visitors to Hamburg to catch their flight. He came home later with a crateload (each) of beer, wine, and knodel.
Pete and I were going to meet playgroup downtown at the train museum. Not only was it a national holiday and nobody (except bus drivers) would be working, but Thomas the Train was also in town. Even though Pete and I were about 5th in line, we bailed to find our friends. The line wrapped around the block - twice. And even when they started letting people in it never seemed to shorten.
Luckily Pete is not, and has never been, a Thomas fan. He was happy to completely bail with a couple other groups and go and play at a new park. This one had a RIP LINE...Yeah baby! Pete liked having a good push with a bit of zig zag to it.
On Saturday we did our regular routine of grocery shopping and playing. While Pete and Rich were out playing soccer, they met some neighbors and neighborhood kids across the way. Then yesterday afternoon the kids were back calling out Pete's name. Its neat, like when I was a kid and ran around all day outside with the neighbor kids. But its scary too, to me he's seems too young yet, but he just wants to go go go.
