Serendipitous

Hmm.  What to do with my front yard eyesore that's also a daily reminder of a not-so-pleasant event this past winter???

The soil texture in my front yard is generally a coarse sandy loam to about 12 inches with a decent amount of organic matter (the stuff that makes soil black). After that the soil looses its OM and has sporadic small, medium, and large rocks. We live on a moraine terminus. A spot where the glaciers stopped for a while and dumped their heavier particles. My sewer fix basically left me with an infertile and easily dried out sandy hill.  Its supposed to settle over time, and we were told not to remove any "excess" soil.  But something's got to be done!

Well, just to kill a few more minutes before actually working, I decided to check out the Prairie Nursery blog...and the topic was Perfect! April 11, 2012 - Bending to Mother Nature's Will - Link.

Ah!  I have a plan.
