Bird Banding

I love going to bird banding. You never know what they will be catching. This last time it was LOTS of chickadees. And a couple of them had bands on their legs already (caught previously).

In the pix below:  Peter and Rich listen to the heartbeat of a chickadee.  Then Peter holds it before letting it go.  Usually once you open your hands the thing flies off. This one seemed to want to stay in Pete's warm hand (or it was just too freaked to move).
