Last Friday Zhu zhu had a free day because of conferences, so I asked her if she'd like to follow me to work. I had a couple of field meetings, and at one of the sites there was a floating tamarack swamp. This thing was like a waterbed.
The tamaracks were at the peak of their color change; bright fluorescent yellow. It was a little breezy that day and it seemed to be snowing soft, feathery, needles.
The next day - time to send the pumpkins off-to-rot. Now I have squirrels circling the compost bin, trying to figure out how to get in.
