Baseball continues. Every game it seems the Braves get a little bit better. Last night Peter got three hits, the team had a 5 run inning, and a teammate caught a fast and low hit for the third out - and the win! - for the team.



Tuesday night (when it was 102 degrees), I went out to see if any of my plants were in dire need of a watering and I happened upon a painted turtle laying eggs in the front yard. We watched her lay 5 eggs, and then slowly cover them back up. Honestly, you'd never know anything happened in that spot.



When she was done, she quickly (yes quickly) took off down the road, back towards the big stormpond in our neighborhood. I guess it will be three months or so before the eggs hatch - or they could possibly overwinter and not hatch until next spring.
