I'm all for cutting back, decreasing funding, tightening-the-belt. But total elimination of funding for programs that have taken decades to develop, and which are provided with all Americans in mind is short-sighted. Here is the latest request to congress
I want leaders that make decisions based thoughtful dialogue and debate. A sweeping decision made with a hard hand and a closed mind doesn't appear to be very democratic or compassionate.
St. Benedict Rules of Discernment
Prepare your heart to be:
Intrigued by differences, instead of divided by judgement of the other.
Poised to value each perspective, your own and others.
Surprised by the possible, instead of enumerating problems.
Attentively led by the spirit when acknowledging what challenges you.
Taught by each speaker, because we are all equals.
