Peter & Nora

That was then (Christmas 2007)...

This is now...

Last Saturday (our second full day here), we went to visit Santa at a natural learning center on the east side of the metro. The building was beautiful, nice oaks out front, a wetland view in the back, and lots of stuffed animals (the formerly *live* kind) on the inside. They had (of course) Santa, hot drinks, cold drinks, candy, donuts, chips, hot dogs, face painting, and an art project. Outside they had a bonfire, animals, and a hay ride.

Rich noted how there was not a fruit or vegetable in the entire building. In Denmark they may serve sweets, but always in accompaniment to fruct om grønsager.

Overall though, I think Peter's favorite thing was the fact that there was almost a foot of snow on the ground, with more coming down. He ran through it, and ate it...all with a very big smile on his face.

Another day we headed down to the community center to swim. Peter enjoyed the kid area (with grandma) while I enjoyed doing a few laps and a boil in the mega hot tub.

And later that day a little sledding off the deck. Only 5 rounds though, it was too cold (maybe -5 degrees F) to stay out any longer.
