(Pete is standing next to me right now. He says he misses his teachers, and his friends at school, and he’d like to go back. He’s lonely for little kids to play with. He is thinking about this because I told him earlier this morning that his class sent me a note on the computer saying Happy Birthday. Thanks for the birthday wishes Room 104).
Pete woke up on Tuesday, and before he was even out of bed he was saying – “its my birthday today”. He had Rich sing the Happy Birthday zoo song to him while he went potty – he just couldn’t wait (to go potty or for the song). The night before Rich had made a cake. Chocolate (of course), decorated with a saber-tooth tiger as specifically requested by Pete, and the Danish flag. We had cake for breakfast, and snack, and lunch, and afternoon snack, and an extra snack, and dinner, and bedtime snack...

Unfortunately by the end of the day Pete was one big rash. It may have been the Turkish bread, or possibly the turkey (oops, now I know what that word means) hotdogs I have been making him eat, or the cake frosting (it was from a mix and its ingredients are questionable). He’s ok with not eating anymore bread or hotdogs – he’s not ok with not eating cake. I’m letting him have just a little at a time without frosting, and we’ve decreased his total daily consumption to maybe three times daily. He seems to be a little less red and puffy.
That day, a co-worker gave Rich a Danish flag and candles for the cake. You can see how red his cheeks were by the end of the day.
Auntie Carol’s jungle animal re-usable stickers are a big hit. We tell a story with the animals, him being the panther ALWAYS (he liked your stickers too Joan, only now they are stuck). Grandma Connie also sent a sticker card, and Barrett grandparents sent tractor calenders. Unlce Mike gave me some puzzles before we left. We've put the mantis together already, but I'm waiting for another cloudy day to do the rest.
Most days DK is dark and cloudy, rainy and windy. On Pete’s b-day is was sunny all day, not a cloud in the sky. Even though it was pretty cold and windy, Pete seemed warm enough at the park. He likes to play in the asphalt hole the best. He chases his ball down in there, around and around, till he falls to the ground exhausted. I’m ok with that.

Hello! We are glad that you had a safe trip and are settling in okay. You are missing miserably cold weather here in MN. Melissa- your food descriptions are making me hungry!

your new camera? Please share them with us on the computer.
