Ahhh - We made it. (Now with photos at bottom)

So far, the couple of times I felt like calling home to let everyone know we are here, its been 2 am or something like that in the US. Here is a short summary of our trip to read while you're awake.

Overall, we had a pretty good trip. Pete had a minor breakdown in the Amsterdam customs line. The big breakdown didn't happen until we got to Copenhagen. He realized (because I told him) that the toys I SAID would be waiting for him in DK would actually not be in DK for about another week and a half. So that, combined with getting in a car and driving for an hour, sent him over the edge.

The flights were uneventful. The pilot scared us with anticipated turbulence over the Atlantic, but we lucked out and never really got any. We made it through the Amsterdam customs line with plenty of time to catch our flight to Copenhagen. Our rental car was big enough to fit all our luggage, and we didn't fly off the tall bridge even though it was so windy I thought we might. The hotel initially gave us a smoking room, but they switched us right away, so we could sleep - sleep - sleep.

We got the keys to our new place this morning. The furniture we are getting from the family that left DK is supposed to be coming this afternoon, and so are the appliances. Once we have all that, we are going to see if we can buy some stuff and sort of camp out at our new place instead of living in the hotel. (We just found out today that the boat with our stuff from home is going to be delayed another three days due to bad ocean weather. Add that to the 5 days already delayed in the US.)

Now I'm going to give Pete a bath. There is one at the hotel, so I need to take advantage of it.

Glad you all made it safe and sound. Genevieve asked the other day if Peter could come have a sleepover! Kind of hard to explain that he's a little too far away for that. Thought about all of you at morning dropoff Jan. 2 when Peter wasn't there to run up and give her a hug. Looking forward to hearing what you're all up to. We'll keep in touch!

Ohhh - Pete's school and friends are what we are already missing the most. Well, that and a kitchen.
