The day before the 4th of July I had laser surgery performed on my left (worst) eye. Its been three weeks, and vision in that eye is pretty good. Good enough that I'm having the other eye done at the end of this week. So this weekend will I'll just be chilling out listening to books on tape (CD - whatever).
To anyone thinking about doing this...I didn't have Lasik - where they cut open a flap, laser your eye, shut the flap, and you heal pretty much within a weekend. For a few different reasons, I had PRK. For this treatment they dissolve off the outer layer of your eye, laser the eye, and then you wear a protective contact lens for a week while a thin outer layer grows back. The eye totally heals to 20/20 maybe within 3 months. I thought that my eye surgeon (Dr. Richie) was wonderful, so I've booked him for my other eye.
